BlackBerry Advantages

 

Several folks have asked me why I chose the BlackBerry Bold over the iPhone and I've Twittered a bunch about this in the past. Now collected into a page.

 

This OH by missrogue sums it up in many ways:

OH: Blackberry is the Mary Ann to iPhone's Ginger. Not as much sizzle, but does it all.

 

general BlackBerry advantages

In using the 8700 (and now 9000/Bold) I found the following advantages of the BlackBerry over the iPhone.

 

High points summary:

  • tactile kbd = faster data entry + UI shortcuts
  • much better display UI, far higher information density (per Tufte design principles)
  • fewer clicks/steps to get things/actions done.

 

BlackBerry Bold advantages

  • more powerful (than the iPhone) : GPS, video, bluetooth internet modem tethering
