On 2009-029 I finally reached inbox zero (see David Allen's Getting Things Done book for the significance) on all my inboxes (electronic, physical) for the first time this year. That plus last.fm playing "Saved By Zero" by The Fixx inspired the following. George Kelly saw my Twitter about it, recorded it, and released it a day later: Saint and Kings: Inbox Zero. I <3 the internet.

(extended collection mix)
Maybe, someday, inbox zero,
I'll be more together.
Stretched by fewer thoughts that leave me.
Collecting everything, projects seem distant, so many actions.
Someday I'll reach inbox zero.
Maybe I'll reach inbox zero.
Processing doing, items that vex me.
I will conquer tasks that resist me.
Someday I'll reach inbox zero.
Maybe I'll reach inbox zero.
(second verse)
Someday, maybe, inbox zero,
I'll keep more reminders.
Overwhelmed by fewer date time items.
Wrongly packed, my calendar owns me, loaded with to-dos.
Someday I'll reach, inbox zero.
Maybe I'll reach, inbox zero.
Letting go of those that spam me.
I will restore my attention.
Someday I'll reach inbox zero.
Maybe I'll reach inbox zero.
(third verse)
Someday, soon, inbox zero,
I'll collect fewer.
Keeping pace daily with inboxes that I empty.
Doing finishing; next actions projects, completed efficiently.
Someday I'll reach inbox zero.
Maybe I'll reach inbox zero.
Deferring filing or otherwise disposing.
I will avoid things that distract me.
So maybe I'll reach inbox zero.
Maybe I'll reach inbox zero.
Maybe I'll reach inbox zero.
Maybe I'll reach inbox zero.
Inbox, inbox, inbox zero.
Inbox, inbox, inbox zero.
Inbox, inbox, inbox zero.
